julia surprised us by bringing her “kid”, a new bunny.  some people protested but in the end the bunny won and it stayed on the deck and in the living room.  kai was fascinated by his new friend and would wake up in the morning and yell “buhhhhh!”  we’re still working on two syllables.  he was nice enough to pet it a few times in between poking it and throwing things at it.
